Mortal Justice

rapists are being freed from the jail
life imprisonment getting decreased to just 'fine'
judges have forgot the justice that shelters them
and the lady of justice is slowly losing her powers

the survivors are being detained for protesting
the rapists belongs to a powerful house,
who holds the key of the nation and they are
busy sheltering the one who should rot in a cell

justice is now just a mortal concept
it can no longer protect the interests of people
the forces that are commanded by her in sacred court
now gives more power to the rapists

I still remember when my idea of justice was different. I remember writing a poem about justice, praising it asking myself to believe in it. I called her a "divine queen that sits on her throne" in a poem but now it seems like that idea has shifted. It causes me so much pain, i cannot express all of my fury even through what i'm writing right now. I cannot even imagine the rage of that mother who lost her husband in this fight, whose daughter had to protests demanding justice because they let out her rapists free. I mean where is the morality? where is the sense of justice in the order of the court? In my eyes, a lady holds so much power and i want to see her rise and burn all the evil men. She is like a goddess nature to me. I just wish her cries were heard before this outrageous decision was given by the high court.
The case of Unnao just proves that if you have power, you can do anything to a point justice become a "mortal" thing. The man who was freed on the order of court belongs to the party that is in power, both at the state and central level, which brings me to the question. How long are we going to allow the misuse of power by these monsters? Why are such people not getting kicked out of the political parties? How can women in that party walk around without any sign of shame on their face? A party that won't stop talking about woman rights and taking measures like "Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao" mission and the ending of three divorcee system for Muslim women, they sure love to harbor and shelter the rapists in their party. The democracy has become a circus and the ruler is now a clown. This poem of mine is about this idea that justice is no longer the same, it can be changed based on who holds money and power. This poem is a commentary on the modern justice that cannot protect the weak.
